abc childcare center (26 Eign road)

Picture
This is a purpose built Neighbourhood Nursery opened in May 2004, in which priority is given to children living in the Central Ward and provides for children with learning difficulties. It is partly funded by the New Opportunities Fund (NOF). This means although we are a private establishment, we are working with the Herefordshire Early Years Department and Childcare partnership (EYDCP). This means as, we have said, families living in the Central ward have priority for places but other families living in other Neighbourhood nursery areas will of course be considered afterwards. They can be allocated places according to the placement criteria and when they become available. The Centre has space for 50 children all on the ground floor with a treatment/observation room and a multi-sensory room. We provide early years care (18 months topre-school age) on the site plus out of school activities and have the facility of a community room for guests to use.  The outside play area is securely fenced and there is a covered area at the side for push chairs. A security system is in operation to ensure the safety of children. Parking is limited but there is room to drop off children and space to leave bicycles. Children with special needs are able to access free speech and language assessments and therapy by our qualified Speech and Language Therapist whilst they attend "abc".

This was a former family house which we converted and registered open as a Children's Nursery back in 1989. It is about a  ten minutes walk from the City centre. We have developed and extended the property over the years and it has adequate space for 50 children using the ground floor, the first floor and the converted basement. We provide early years care (18 months to pre-school age) and out of school care (the Osca Club) from this building. Parents have liked the idea that the care of their children is in a home environment. There is a safe walled garden at the rear for outdoor play and a covered area at the side for pushchairs. We have Cctv security system in operation to ensure the safety of the children.

The OSCA kids Club.

The kids club provides outside school hours care provision. The children can come early (7:30am) in the morning to No: 26 to have their breakfast and then we provide transport to their school. If they are booked for after school care then they are picked up at school and brought back to either No26 or 45 Eign road, depending on there age. There they can have their tea and socialise, doing various activities until their parent or guardian picks them up. We do close at 6pm but if there is problem then just contact us on the phone number given on the home page. Any more information about escort services and the activities of OSCA together with an application form can be obtained on request.
